"Birth is not only about making babies. It's about making mothers; strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength."

What is a Doula (And Why You Might Want One)?

Bringing a new baby into the world is one of the most personal, powerful, and life-changing experiences you'll ever have. It can also come with a lot of unknowns, big emotions, and decision after decision. That's where a birth doula comes in. A doula is a trained support person who offers continuous emotional, physical, and informational care during pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum period. We're not medical providers; we don't deliver babies, diagnose, or make decisions for you. Instead, we're here for you, your needs, your voice, your experience. We walk alongside you through it all, holding space when things feel overwhelming, encouraging your choices, offering practical support, and making sure you never feel like "just another patient."

Meet Your Doula

Hey there, I'm Lauren, and I'm really glad you found your way here. I'm a birth doula, a wife, and a mom to a busy little girl.

I've always loved caring for babies and supporting new moms. After having my own daughter, that passion only grew stronger. Experiencing that season for myself deepened everything. I know how much it matters to feel supported during that time, and that's exactly why I do what I do.

With every birth I attend, my love for this only continues to grow. It's an honor each time to be invited into such an intimate space and walk alongside families as they meet their babies.

My Approach

My style as a doula is very down-to-earth. I'm calm, observant, and tuned in to what each moment calls for. I have a strong ability to read the room, whether that means offering hands-on support like hip squeezes and counter pressure, or stepping back and giving space so you and your partner can be fully present together. I'm there for both of you, not just the birthing person, and I believe support should feel steady, respectful, and centered on your experience, not mine. My goal is to help you feel safe, seen, and fully supported in whatever way that looks like for you.

Training and Certifications

When it comes to birth, I believe physical support can make a big difference. I'm always learning new ways to bring comfort and ease to the families I work with, and I love adding fresh tools to my doula toolkit. To deepen my ability to support clients in this way, I have completed or am working on completing training in:

  • Certified birth doula training through Earthwise Doula

  • Spinning Babies Techniques

(for comfort, fetal positioning, and labor progress)

  • Rebozo Use for Birth

(gentle support tool for movement and relief)

  • Comfort Measures Workshops

(practical tools for all stages of labor)

  • Lactation Support Training

  • CPR certified for infants, children, and adults
