Birth Pool Rental

Birth pools can be a wonderful and practical way to have a waterbirth, or a great addition to your comfort measures in labor.

72.3% of women who had a waterbirth stated that they would certainly choose this method of giving birth again.

Women who have chosen to have a waterbirth have said they experienced and benefited from the following:

  • An increase in having a hands-free birth (if you choose to)

  • Decrease in tearing

  • Less pain with contractions

  • Higher rates of intact perinium

  • Shorter births

  • Being in water allows your pregnant body the relief of buoyancy. Changing positions much easier and letting your body float between contractions if you wish is much added pain relief.

  • Decreases chances of unnecessary medical intervention.

  • Buoyancy promotes more efficient uterine contractions and improved blood circulation resulting in better oxygenation of the uterine muscles, less pain for the mother, and more oxygen for the baby.

  • Immersion in water often helps lower high blood pressure caused by anxiety.

  • The water seems to reduce stress-related hormones, allowing the mother's body to produce endorphins which serve as pain-inhibitors.

  • Provides an environment similar to the amniotic sac

  • Eases the stress of birth, thus increasing reassurance and sense of security.
